Three oval huts line the west edge of Monacarroge, a narrow tongue of land thrusting into Dingle Bay. Their entrance gaps face east toward the churning water, inviting dawn light and salt air into chambers barely large enough for a person to stretch out. The smallest measures only 1.8 metres across, forcing its occupant to live inside a breath rather than a room.

Monacarroge/Móin na Caróige: This small promontory fort, jutting S into Dingle Bay, is referred to by Westropp (1910, 278) by the name of the adjacent field. Three hut-sites (KE052-285005-, KE052-285006- & KE052-285007-) extend along the W side of the promontory. The 2 northernmost, detached both from each other and from the enclosing bank to W, are oval structures with entrance gaps positioned centrally along their E sides.
