Hut site in Bohonagh — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Twenty-one postholes still mark a vanished rectangular chamber ten metres long and three wide, while one central hole suggests a roof support or hearth. The chamber sat twelve metres south of a stone circle, cup-marked stone and boulder burial, yet no visible bond has survived between them. It may have been a seasonal shelter, a workshop or a forgotten room in a larger ritual landscape.

In level area pasture, on S-facing slope 1.5km N of Rosscarbery Bay; excavated in 1959 (Fahy 1961). Group of 21 postholes, forming three sides of a rectangle (L 10m; Wth 3m) and single central posthole were exposed. Located c. 13m S of multiple stone circle (CO143-032001-); cup-marked stone (CO143-032002-) and boulder burial (CO143-032003-) close by to NE. Impossible to determine whether the hut was in any way associated. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
