What is recorded here

On roughly cleared ground in an area of limestone outcrop. An oval house (E-W; L 5.8m, Wth 4.9m) defined by a double drystone wall with a rubble core. According to local information, another similar house lay c. 150m to NE. It was destroyed c. 1979 during field clearance and numerous sherds of pottery were found within the interior. No visible surface trace survivies. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
