A spread of burnt material c. 25m square, was discovered here prior to road construction (Excavation Licence No. 00E0535, Area E). Excavation of this revealed c. 30 pits of various sizes and shapes. Two troughs were exposed, one of which had four postholes in its base and two outside it. Two flint flakes were recovered from the site. (Duffy 2002, 231)
