The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic cairn and cist, dating to approximately 3000–2500 BCE. Creag Nan Uan is significant as one of the earliest known sites of human settlement and funerary practice on the Isle of South Uist, reflecting early maritime adaptation and burial customs in the Western Isles.
