Red Castle

Castle (medieval)

What is recorded here

Red Castle stands in Highland Scotland as a medieval ruin, its red stones still visible beneath grass and memory. It may have guarded a valley road, sheltered a family, or watched ships pass below. Whatever it did, the castle did not disappear cleanly. It lent its shape to the land, then withdrew into silence.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Red Castle as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
