Close to the highest point on the island, a small square stone enclosure marks a natural hollow dedicated to Brian Boramy. Legend claims the water ran red when the king died, turning an ordinary well into a witness of royal fate. The bare rock and missing offerings suggest people once came here to mark loss, leave gifts, or simply stand before a king remembered in water.

Close to highest point about midway along the island. Noted by O'Flaherty in 1684 as being dedicated to 'Brian Boramy (King of Ireland)' (Hardiman 1846, 115) and said to have run red at the time of his death (info. T. Robinson). It consists today of a natural hollow at the foot of a mass of bare rock which is delimited by a small, roughly square (L/Wth 1.15m) dry stone enclosure with an entrance at N. Though noted in some numbers by Macalister (1896a, 204-5), no offerings are now visible. A cross-slab (GA021-026007-) decorated on both faces lies beside it. Dedicated to Brian Boru, the 11th-century High King of Ireland, the well is associated with his death in 1014 at the Battle of Clontarf; local tradition holds that the water turned red in mourning or commemoration of his passing. The site's connection to Brian Boru reflects his enduring legacy in Irish folklore and sacred geography.
