What is recorded here
In pasture, on the N bank of the Glashanagark River. A sub-circular area (31m N-S; 34.6m E-W) enclosed SW->SE by two concentric earthen banks with an intervening fosse, and defined SE->SW by a steep natural slope forming the N bank of the river. The enclosing element is most pronounced at N: inner bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 0.7m); outer bank (int. H 0.45; ext. H 0.7m); intervening fosse (Wth 2m). However, its profile is much more gradual at E and W: inner bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.3m); outer bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.15m); intervening fosse (Wth 2m). Causeway entrance (Wth 3.75m) at NE; cattle have eroded a path across both banks at SW. The interior slopes down to the S following the natural gradient; its surface is poorly drained. Near the centre is a waterlogged depression (diam. 1.7m; D 0.3m). The entire site is under grass but there are some trees growing along the outer bank.
