What is recorded here

Caer Williamsburg is an 18th-century military fort in Llandwrog, Gwynedd, built by Thomas Wynn, 1st Baron Newborough, between 1761 and 1776 to house the Carnarvon Militia. Wynn spent fortunes on his martial fancies, eventually facing debtors' prison and exile in Italy, yet the fort still stands within the Glynllifon park with seven Grade II* listed structures. Its location served no real defensive purpose, suggesting Wynn craved spectacle more than security.
Caer Williamsburg is shown as a castle on the public map of Gwynedd. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
