What is recorded here
On a NE-facing slope, in rough grazing with outcropping bedrock. Located c. 7m S of a multiperiod church (KK030-004001-), within an irregularly shaped graveyard (KK030-004003-).
This graveslab (visible H 0.64m; Wth 0.6m) is embedded in the ground. It has a chamfered edge and the upper surface appears to be undecorated, apart from a border, defined by a groove, around the top surface, c. 0.02m from the edge.
There is another roughly rectangular medieval graveslab (KK030-004010-) in the graveyard and Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 336) mentions 'two uninscribed coffin-shaped slabs [KK030-004010- and KK030-004011-], with raised crosses' of 13th/14th century date in the graveyard, which appear to be in addition to the two graveslabs (KK030-004004- and KK030-004009-) identified during fieldwork.
