Within the burial ground (LF023-113002-) c. 30m to the NE of the Cistercian abbey (LF023-113----). One of a group of four graveslabs (see also LF023-113004-, LF023-113010- and LF023-113012-). This tapered graveslab (dims. H 1.04m; top Wth 0.36m; base Wth 0.5m; T 0.11m) has been erected upside down and, as a result, the carving on its upper part is hidden. Its E face bears a very fine, although much-worn, carving of what appears to be a floriated cross and other barely visible features, all of which are contained within a border of nailhead ornament. Medieval Christian graveslab, 12th to 16th century. Associated with the Cistercian abbey, these slabs are significant for their funerary inscriptions and as markers of early monastic burial practices in the region.
