Grave Yard stands on a raised promontory above the River Nore in County Kilkenny, holding a medieval church inside a pentagonal wall. Most headstones date to the 19th century, though the church itself reaches further back. The river flows eighty metres west, close enough to remind the dead that water never stops moving.

On a slightly raised promontory on the flood plain of the River Nore which flows c. 80m to the W. A medieval church (KK009-028001-) is located in the SW portion of the pentagonal graveyard (max. dims. c. 32m N-S; c. 50m E-W) enclosed by a modern wall. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 321-2), 'In the graveyard there are about half a dozen inscribed monuments, but none of them ancient'.
