Grangefertagh holds a reconstructed western window and doorway rescued from the Augustinian abbey of Fertagh. Men carried those stones three and a half kilometres south in 1799, breaking the old church to preserve its shape inside a new one. The act sounds like theft, but it is also memory: they refused to let Fertagh disappear whole.

From the church of the Augustinian abbey of Fertagh (KK008-047001-) located c. 3.5km to the NNE. The W window (KK008-153001-) was removed in 1799 and reconstructed in the C of I church in Johnstown (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 294).
