Freestanding single-bay two-stage dovecote, extant 1839, on an octagonal plan. Now disused. Octagonal slate roof with red brick header bond stepped eaves. Coursed rubble stone walls with red brick flush quoins to corners. Pair of square-headed door openings in shallow camber-headed recesses with red brick block-and-start surrounds framing diagonal timber boarded doors. Full-height interior on a circular plan with staggered pigeonholes having red brick header bond ledges. Set in landscaped grounds shared with Grange House.

A dovecote contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Grange House estate with the architectural value of the composition, one doubling as an eye-catcher visible from the principal "apartments" or reception rooms of the nearby country house (see 12400901), confirmed by such attributes as the polygonal plan form; the construction in unrefined local fieldstone offset by red brick dressings producing a mild polychromatic palette; and the polygonal roof showing a rough cut slate finish.
