Half a kilometre of flat Kilkenny valley, one oval hole in the ground, and the hole has a front door. People dug it, lived beside it, forgot it, and the forgetting is the interesting part. Fairy fort is the name the landscape gave back when human memory thinned.

On the flat floor of the Dinin river valley floor, in mixed grass and tillage. There are good views in all directions across the valley. A much disturbed roughly oval area (int. dims. on 25-inch OS map c. 43m N-S; c. 36m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 1.5-2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.3m) and fosse (Wth 2-3m; D 0.3m) and outer bank (Wth 1.5-2m; ext. H 0.2-0.3m). There is an entrance (Wth 4m) in the SE quadrant. There has been some dumping in the interior.
