What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Gortnasythe, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular overgrown platform spans about forty metres at the bottom of a southwest-facing slope. An earth and stone bank, now largely reduced to a scarp, defines the edge with outer facing stones visible at the southeast. A narrow entrance appears at the south-southwest beside slight traces of a silted fosse.

At the bottom of a SW-facing slope. Circular overgrown platform (diam. c. 40m) defined by an earth and stone bank (at SSE: Wth 3m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.15m) largely reduced to a scarp, with evidence of outer facing-stones at SE. There are slight traces of a silted fosse ENE-ESE and at S, and the entrance (Wth 1.5m) is at SSW.
