Earthwork in Glenlary is a raised circular scarped area in pasture beside the Glounderrig stream, with a cliff-edge fort fourteen metres west. Surveyors marked it as one of three forts near the western boundary before sheep and grass softened its edges. The ravine completes the circle on the west, suggesting people chose the drop as much as they shaped the soil.

In pasture, immediately E Glounderrig sream that forms townland boundary with Ballinvreena. A cliff-edge fort (LI048-043----) lies 14m to the W. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch sheet as a raised circular shaped area defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 OSi 25-inch map as a sub-circular shaped area (dims. c. 23m N-S; 23m E-W) defined by a scarp from NW-N-E-S-SW and at W by a scarp of the ravine. In 1840 the Ordnance Survey described this monument as one of ‘three forts, one near the W boundary’ (OSNB Abbeyfeale to Bruree, 190).
