The precise location of a possible vicar's house in Garristown known in the 17th-century as the 'Bartasse' has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Dublin recorded stated that in Garristown on the lands of Elizabeth Talbot of Malahide, an English Papist there stood; 'a little stone house comonly called the Bartasse' which may have belonged to the 'Vicar' of Garristown Church (Simington 1945, 17).
