What is recorded here

Gallán is a two-metre standing stone on a SW-facing slope in County Cork, absent from the 1842 Ordnance Survey map yet still visible in pasture. Its long axis points NNE-SSW, aligning with sunrise and sunset rather than human direction. The stone may have marked a boundary, a meeting place or a warning about the land itself. It remains because it resisted forgetting, not because it was recorded.
