What is recorded here

Indicated is a worn oval enclosure on a wet Galway slope, its southern edge lost to a gravel pit while marshy vegetation still marks the hidden ditch at north. The shape survives only because the land refused to drain, holding water in the very gap where the boundary disappeared. Anyone walking the grassland touches that refusal: a line of reeds, a sharp scent of rot, and the knowledge that measurement failed before human memory began.

On S-facing slope in poorly drained grassland. A poorly preserved oval enclosure (E-W 63m) defined by a scarp from SW to NW; an earthen field bank overlies the enclosing element from NW through N to SE, while a gravel pit has disturbed it at S. A band of marshy vegetation immediately outside the bank at N, and a stream, running N-S, also E side suggest the presence of an external fosse.
