What is recorded here
Kilmore holds the findspot of a silver ring dating to the twelfth century, when precious metal still travelled between hands and households. The ring may have marked a person, a gift or a bargain, yet it left no written name behind. Only its loss preserved it, buried in ordinary soil until earth gave up a small brightness kept from forgetting.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as FINDSPOT OF SILVER RING. Recorded period: MEDIEVAL; C12TH. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
