What is recorded here

Nine Castle Street holds a spindle whorl and medieval pottery, small tools of a life that turned yarn or stirred pots before the street took its present shape. The whorl may have spun thread for cloaks, sails or kitchen strings, while the broken pottery suggests meals eaten and discarded in an ordinary Fife household. Neither object names its owner, but together they point to a busy room where making and eating belonged to the same hands.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Andrews, 9 Castle Street as Spindle Whorl (period Unassigned), Unidentified Pottery (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
