Falkland Palace rose from a hunting lodge into a royal retreat where Mary, Queen of Scots, found refuge from turmoil. Its halls still echo with the ghosts of starved princes and wicked kin, while deer roam the ancient parkland beneath the watchful towers. The chapel dedicated to Thomas the Apostle remains open for worship, bridging medieval blood and modern peace.
