Field system in Tuar Sáilín

A field boundary extends from the west end of the small enclosure [KE081-063----] and curves around to the north and east. A similar field boundary extends from the east of the small enclosure and continues east. These robbed out walls survive as linear arrangements of stone and make three sides of the larger stone enclosure measuring 12m north/ south and 20m east west. A natural spring is located within the enclosure and it appears to be lined with several large boulders up to 1.5m in diameter. The above description is derived from an archaeological assessment report for a proposed new forest at Toorsaleen, Co. Kerry. The report was compiled by Edmond O'Donovan & Associates in April 2014.
