Field boundary in Derrylough

In rough hill pasture, on a N-facing slope, overlooking Cloonee Lakes and Kenmare Bay. A collapsed drystone field wall (T 0.7m; H 0.5m) protrudes above the surface of the bog and comprises upright stones set at right angles to the line of the wall. The wall (L 45m) extends downslope to the N, turns sharply to the SE, continues for a distance of 28m before it turns E across the hillslope (L 45m) and peters out. Loose stones are scattered on the downslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
