In pasture, located on broad, level terrace in sharply undulating terrain broken by limestone outcropping, on the lower slopes of a large limestone hill which is named Red Hill on the 1913 OS 6-inch map. Ground falls away sharply c. 20m to N. Slightly sunken, circular area (int. diam. 6m) defined on the perimeter by a sod-covered stone bank (Wth 1.4m at N, 2.8m at S; int. H 0.4m at N, 0.5m at S; ext. H 0.1 at N, 0.4m at S). There is a gap or entrance (Wth 1.5m) at E. At W the bank is incorporated into a field boundary which appears as a low sod-covered stone bank (Wth 1.2-1.4m; H 0.3m) extending to SW and NNW from the hut site.
