St Joseph's College

Detached seven-bay two-storey outbuilding, built c.1860, having double-pile section to north-east. Pitched corrugated-iron roof with red brick eaves course, render coping, piers to corners and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rubble stone walls with red brick and render quoins. Round-headed window openings with red brick block-and-start surrounds and cut limestone sills, now blocked. Round-headed door openings to rear (north) elevation with red brick block-and-start surrounds. Double-leaf wrought-iron gate flanked by square-profile rendered piers having exposed roughly dressed limestone in places and cut limestone bases, render caps and ball finials. Set within grounds of St Josephs College.

Although no longer in use this outbuilding retains its original form, and features such as the red brick window and door surrounds. The red brick and grey limestone utilised in its construction add colour and texture interest to the site. Built to serve St Joseph's College, it forms part of a related group with it and the adjacent entrance piers.
