What is recorded here
Fallowbeg still hides a standing stone somewhere across its three townlands, though no exact point is certain. The stone may mark an old boundary, a lost burial or a place where people gathered when the land was younger. It is the kind of monument that resists measurement, surviving only in the shape of the field and the memory of those who walked it.
Unlocated standing stone within the townlands of Fallowbeg Lower, Middle or Upper, mentioned by H. Roe in her unpublished report entitled 'Laois County: Gazetteer of Finds Monuments, etc.' p. 3.
