This poorly preserved circular caher is located on a level terrace on the W side of the Staigue river valley and affords an extensive outlook towards S. It is not marked on the OS maps. A field wall running along its SE edge has truncated the site in this sector. The enclosing wall consists of a core of radially laid slabs revetted internally and externally with slabs set on edge. The latter average .5m high and the wall is 2.15m wide. The entrance is located at E, and measures 1.1m wide and 2.2m long. It is marked by three portals, two of which form the S side. The W half of the site's interior is slightly raised and features a number of upright slabs in its NW quadrant. These probably relate to the site's use as a ceallúnach burial ground (KE107-013001- ) (local information).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 621. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
