What is recorded here

No visible wall remains in Drumharsna South, only a hidden circular memory beneath mixed farmland. The lost fort measured twenty-seven metres across, large enough to hold a small household, a herd of goats or a child running from rain. It may have been a home, a refuge or a boundary marker before its stones scattered into ordinary earth.

In mixed farmland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 272, no. 35) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 27.4m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall. No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 11 December 2017
