Creevagh Beg is a stone ringfort, but local memory calls it a fairy fort, suggesting the boundary between human history and myth remains porous in that landscape. The stones may have served people long before folklore claimed them, yet the name preserves the belief that some places belong to older, unseen inhabitants. Whether human or fairy, the fort still stands as a marker of continuity, witness to lives that no longer remember their own beginnings.
