Fairy fort in Casheltown, County Donegal: a broken stone ring on a hilltop, twenty-one metres across, its wall robbed and grassed over but still shaping the field. People moved stones from it for centuries, perhaps believing the ring belonged to fairies rather than humans. What remains is a hollow circle in good pasture, old enough to forget its own name, waiting for someone to walk its edge and remember that ownership can be invented as easily as forgotten.

Internal diam. 21.1m. A subcircular area defined by a largely destroyed and grassed-over stone wall of present width 3.9m, most of which has been robbed. The site is located on a hilltop, with a light cover of soil on a limestone base, which outcrops in places. This is fairly good pasture land.
