Newcastle (rahoon Par.) in County Galway holds a ruined ringfort where a collapsed stone wall still circles a possible hut. The broken stones overlook Lough Corrib, suggesting people once watched the water, kept fire, and shared the risk of stormy life. The fairies may have taken the shape of the fort, but human hands more likely built it.

In rough grazing and scrubland overlooking Lough Corrib to E. Poorly preserved circular cashel (D 25m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall overlain by a modern field wall at W. Possible entrance at E. The interior contains a poorly defined D-shaped stone structure, possibly a hut.
