Fairy forts in Limerick keep their shapes in grass and memory rather than stone. Ballylusky sat on an open slope where people could watch the land in every direction. The fort may have been a home, a boundary marker or a place for festivals. Its absence from later maps does not erase it, because the region still contains whole landscapes of forgotten enclosure.

In elevated pasture on a slight S-facing slope with good views in all directions. The enclosure is located 60m NE of the townland boundary with Rathbranagh, enclosure (LI021-064----) lies 125m N and enclosure (LI021-066----) lies 60 NE. The site is depicted as a circular fort (ext. diam. c. 26m) on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. It is not depicted on subsequent maps. Inspected by the ASI in 2000 and described as having no visible trace above ground level. Not visible on any aerial photos or on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018 and 14/02/2020.
