Fairy forts hide in plain sight, wearing the shape of farm boundaries and forgotten tracks. A fifty-metre circle on a gentle terrace in Adamstown Lower resisted ordinary understanding long enough to be drawn on maps before the land itself was changed. People may have lived there, excluded others there, or simply followed a line already drawn in the soil. The circle disappeared under progress, but it did not stop being a circle. It waits inside the field, patient as stone, waiting for someone to stop measuring and start seeing.

On W side of the N-S portion of a NE-SW valley, on a gently sloping E-facing terrace between the steeper upper and lower slopes of the valley. The fields about extensively reclaimed in the 1980s. Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map and the 1900 revision as a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) with a farm trackway running NW-SE through the N-NE sector.
