Mortons and C. Toal documented the vanished Shanaway East rath before ploughs erased it. The univallate fort stood on a rise in a pastoral field, offering excellent views in every direction. It is gone now, leaving behind only the memory of a place bold enough to face the whole horizon.

This univallate rath was situated on a rise in the middle of a pastoral field. Excellent views are afforded in all directions. This rath has been completely ploughed out and no surface trace remains.
