Marianne, the youngest sister of the house, stopped arguing with the camera and walked toward the fort. She touched the worn edge of the ring, not in fear but in recognition, as if the land had been waiting for someone small enough to hear it. The men laughed at first, then went quiet when she named the room inside the hill and the door that opened only at tide. What they had dismissed as a child's fantasy returned shaped, testable and alive.
