Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Poulawillin

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Clear water still moves through the Poulawillin fort, while the land stands beside it in darkness. That is the shape of the place: a living chamber, half remembered and half concealed. The drowned room does not need to be completed; it waits for someone strong enough to enter with both parts of themselves.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
