What is recorded here
Moveen East holds a true ringfort, not a fairy tale. Earth and stone still mark the boundary where humans lived, breathed and likely died before written records arrived. The fairies belong to later imagination, but the fort belongs to people who shaped the land with their own hands.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
