Fairy fort in Moneygaff East, County Cork: a circular earthwork, 34.4m by 33.1m, with a low bank barely 1.4m high, hidden under growth on a rise above the Bride River. People called it a fairy fort because the shape appeared sudden, complete and untouched, as if made for beings who do not explain themselves. A human hand may have built the ring for protection or marker, but time has erased the purpose and left behind the challenge of seeing through grass, shadow and distance what the land still holds.

On top of a natural rise, S of Bride River. Circular, heavily overgrown area (34.4m N-S; 33.1m E-W) enclosed by low earthen bank (max. H 1.4m).
