Fairy fort in Lisladeen, County Cork: circular earthen ring, 46.5m across, with a 1.25m bank. People called it a fairy fort because the shape seemed hidden rather than built for show. Others saw a human rath, a boundary marker for fieldwork and memory. The underground passage in the southwest quadrant still invites curiosity: what did people hide, avoid or remember there?

In tillage, Circular, slightly raised area (diam. 46.5m) defined by earthen bank (H 1.25m). Interior planted with coniferous trees; Man-made underground passage (CO061-133002-) in SW quadrant. According to Hartnett (1939, 235), interior used as dumping ground for field clearance stones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
