Kilnagalliagh in County Clare holds a ringfort, meaning people built a defensible home or farm there rather than leaving an empty circle for fantasy. The earth bank would have blocked wind, marked ownership and kept intruders out during ordinary life. Local names often layer human history with fairy tale, but the visible structure still points to a residential place where someone lived, worked and resisted the raw exposure of the Clare landscape.
