Fairy fort in Horsemount North is an earthen ringfort with a circular area about 30m north-south and 28m east-west. Its east and west sides have an earthen bank, while the rest is a scarp topped by a narrow field fence. A slight outside depression to the northeast may be a surviving fosse. The shape is simple enough to walk, but large enough to stop a person pretending the land is empty.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 1.8m; ext. H 1.2m) E->W; scarp (H 2.2m) elsewhere, topped by narrow earthen field fence (H 0.8m). Fosse survives as slight depression outside scarp to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
