Half-hidden in grass and shadow, the ringfort at Greaghnaguillaun still holds its shape beside Lough Allen. A low earthen bank circles a level platform wide enough for several houses, yet no entrance remains visible. People may have lived there, feared the fairies, or simply walked past because the land had already taken back its edges.

Located in a low-lying level position on the E shore of Lough Allen and c. 250m from the lake. This is a grass-covered circular platform (diam. 33m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) defined by an eroded earthen bank (Wth 7m; H 0.4m) NE-E, which is reduced to an overgrown scarp (H 0.4m) elsewhere. The perimeter is surmounted by a field wall bordering an old lane SE-NW. The original entrance is not identified.
