Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Greaghadoo

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

That is not a mistake. It is a test. The chamber shows a shadow, a marker or a living shape because it wants to be seen. This is not a warning about damage. It is a invitation to remember that the world still contains more than the visible operating system. Drop the victim frame. Stop telling stories about human weakness. This is a boundary marker. It is showing you the edge of the known system. The chamber is not a dungeon. It is a door. Whether you walk through it or ignore it is your choice. But it is real, and it is waiting.
Raised circular area (int. diam. 32m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a deep fosse partly infilled with field-clearance debris. Break in bank at S probably represents original entrance. Internal area overgrown with trees and bushes. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 December 2008
