What is recorded here

Gorraun holds a thirty-one-metre earthen ring on a south-facing slope, marked by a causewayed entrance and banks that still break the grass. It is the kind of place where human hands shaped the land long before written memory, yet local story still calls it a fairy fort. The boundary between record and legend blunts there; the earth remembers more than measurement, and people have always lived inside that difference.

Situated on S facing slope on rising ground in upland area. Circular area (diam 31m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 1m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.5m) best preserved at N, intervening fosse (Wth 1m) and external bank (Wth 1.2m; ext. H 0.3m) visible at S only. Causewayed entrance (Wth 2.5m) at S. Interior of site slopes from N to S.
