What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human ringforts, misnamed later. This is one of them: a circular earthwork in Gearagh, County Cork, with a surviving bank and partial ditch. The fairies entered only after people stopped remembering what the place was for.

In pasture, on edge of ridge of high ground which overlooking Argideen River to ESE. Circular raised area (diam. c. 35m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.3m). Fosse survives SSE->NW (D 1m).
