Fairy fort in Garragort, County Cork: a roughly circular earthen ringfort about thirty metres across, still drawn on maps from 1842 to 1937. Bowman measured it in 1934 as a single-ramparted fort on James O'Callaghan's land, with a five-foot bank, a shallow fosse and an interior slightly higher than the field around it. Local people later levelled part of the western bank, perhaps around 1982, leaving only a low rise in the pasture. The fort sits on an east-facing slope where the land drops away north and south, like a small room set into the hillside.

In pasture, on break in E-facing slope; land also falls away steeply to N and S. Depicted as hachured roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Low rise may mark line of levelled bank to W; according to local information, levelled c. 1982. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 621-2) as single-ramparted fort (diam. 46yd) on James O'Callaghan's land, with bank c. 5ft H, fosse 2 to 4ft D and interior c. 4ft higher than outside field level.
