What is recorded here
Gardenfield holds a true ringfort misnamed by fairy legend. Earth and stone still mark the boundary where people lived, bred animals or kept what mattered before written records arrived. The fairy label is a story later, not a fact about the building. Under that misleading name, the field may have been a farm, a refuge or a small centre of local life.
