What is recorded here
Walsh (1972, 21) includes two raths (see KE091-115----), located in Doon townland, on a list of 'Earthwork and settlement sites' in Co. Kerry. This possible rath has not been precisely located and it is possible that it is in that part of the townland on OS 6-inch map 100.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
